Who Names Fruit !?!

I really am confused. Who decided the names of fruits? Follow this logic as I try to sort out a shopping list for Asda.

An Orange is a fruit. So when you make it into a drink, it's Orange Squash. An apple is a fruit. So when you make that into a drink, you get Apple Juice.

Tomatos are, well, debatable (stand by for a correction from Vikki!), but they make Tomato Juice.

So who decided to name Butternut Squash? No wonder I can never find it in the drinks section, because it's a fruit! Was this a deliberate ploy so Robinson's would never make Butternut Squash Squash?
